Spring is right around the corner and with our recent St. Julian White Wine Port that was released in February 2024 Wine Club, we were looking for a cocktail to celebrate the upcoming warmer days. The Porto Tonico, or Port and tonic, is a wine cocktail that is Portugal’s answer to an Aperol spritz. It offers the perfect balance of sweetness and bitterness with a more complex tasting than a gin and tonic would have. With just two main ingredients it is quick, simple, and delicious!
Ingredients

2 oz port wine

4 oz tonic water

Orange or lemon slice for garnish

Mint leaves for garnish
Instructions

Add ice to either a bulbous stemmed or stemless wine glass.

Pour the port wine followed by the tonic water over the ice.

Slice an orange or lemon and add it to the wine cocktail along with a few sprigs of mint leaves.

Serve immediately and enjoy!
