Wine Spotlight: Braganini Reserve Pinot Noir

Body

When it comes to wine, few varietals are as synonymous with romance, mystery, and awe as Pinot Noir. Known for its delicate balance of fruitiness, earthiness, and complexity, this wine has been celebrated for centuries for being a “sexy” wine. With its delicate, nuanced flavors, and silky texture, Pinot Noir is perfect for a cozy night with someone special, even if its just your dog and Netflix.

Known as the “heartbreak” grape by winemakers, Pinot Noir is a finicky grape to grow, as well as temperamental in the winery, which makes it even more sought after once in the bottle. Today, Pinot Noir is the 6th most planted red grape in the world and varies greatly depending on where it’s grown.

The Braganini Reserve Pinot Noir is 100% estate grown at our Mountain Road Estate Vineyard. The grapes love this cool climate and thrive in the sandy, well-drained soil. The location’s warm days build the fruit flavors and cool nights create the acidity that makes this such an elevated wine. Complex flavors of cherry, raspberry, cocoa, rose petal and allspice are balanced by smooth tannins.

Pinot Noir is one of the best red wines for pairing with almost any meal, due to being lighter in style with natural high acidity.  A natural for earthier flavors like mushrooms, venison, duck, and lamb, it can also pair beautifully with salmon and tuna. Delicious with dried fruit compote, fresh figs, and strawberries, try this Pinot with baked brie, goat cheese or feta.
