Sauvignon Blanc is a classic European Vitis vinifera grape with a name that translates to “wild white.” The grape once grew untamed in the hills of France. Winemakers quickly recognized its potential. Sauvignon Blanc produces wines known for bright minerality, vibrant citrus flavors, herbal notes, and a crisp, mouthwatering finish.
Braganini Reserve Estate Sauvignon Blanc comes from grapes grown at our Mountain Road Estate Vineyard. The vineyard team carefully monitors these vines throughout the growing season to ensure estate-level quality. A great Sauvignon Blanc depends on balance. It should combine fresh green flavors, ripe tropical fruit, and lively acidity. Our winemaking team achieves this balance through a thoughtful dual-harvest approach.
During early September, the team harvests the first third of the grapes. This early pick preserves bright grassy and herbal flavors. Later in September, the remaining grapes reach fuller ripeness. These grapes bring juicier tropical fruit notes to the wine. Winemakers ferment each harvest lot separately. They then blend the wines before aging to create complexity and harmony.
Sauvignon Blanc is an ideal wine for spring and summer enjoyment. On the nose, expect bold aromas of freshly cut grass, gooseberry, passion fruit, grapefruit, and lime. These aromas carry through to the palate. The wine finishes with signature crisp acidity that refreshes with every sip. Because of this structure, Sauvignon Blanc ranks among the most food-friendly white wines.
This wine pairs beautifully with feta and goat cheese. It also complements green vegetables like Brussels sprouts, fennel, and asparagus. Citrus-based sauces enhance the pairing even further. In addition, salty or briny fish and shellfish shine alongside its acidity. Sauvignon Blanc also works well with pesto pasta, Thai chicken salad, fish tacos, and many Asian-inspired dishes, including Pad Thai.
Braganini Reserve Estate Sauvignon Blanc offers a bright, expressive take on a timeless grape. It delivers freshness, balance, and versatility that make it easy to enjoy at the table or on its own.
