Third-generation winery owner John Braganini often reflects on his childhood with fondness. In particular, he remembers spending time with his Italian mother and grandmother. They lovingly called him tesoro, meaning darling or my treasure. During those moments, warmth and care filled every interaction. For example, John remembers sitting on their laps while they read stories. In addition, they brought him to church to keep him out of trouble at home. Over time, these experiences shaped how John approaches winemaking today. As a result, he believes every wine should start with heart and intention.
With that philosophy in mind, Tesoro came to life as a limited-edition Wine Club release. However, Tesoro goes beyond being just a wine. Instead, it celebrates meaningful moments and the people we hold close. To achieve this, John created a sweet red blend using Chambourcin and Verona grapes. Together, these varieties deliver a smooth, inviting wine with rich fruit character.
On one hand, Chambourcin adds bright acidity, red fruit flavors, and a hint of spice. On the other, Verona contributes deep color and dark fruit depth. As a result, the blend opens with sweet blueberries, raspberries, cherries, and cranberries. Meanwhile, a touch of black pepper adds complexity. At the same time, crisp acidity balances the sweetness and keeps the wine refreshing. For this reason, Tesoro shines on warm summer days. Additionally, a quick 30-minute chill in the refrigerator lifts the flavors even more. Even so, fans of dry wines often reach for another glass.
To preserve its fresh, easy-drinking style, Tesoro ages in stainless steel. Because of its balance, the wine pairs effortlessly with food. For example, it complements juicy burgers, BBQ chicken, and smoked pork. Likewise, it works beautifully with steaks, pasta, and crispy pizza. Beyond savory dishes, Tesoro even pairs with classic summer desserts like s’mores. Whether around a campfire or at the table, it enhances relaxed and nostalgic moments.
