Love s’mores but not the mess? St. Julian Winery & Distillery has created the perfect solution. S’mores wine delivers all the flavor of the classic campfire treat without sticky fingers or cleanup. The wine captures toasted marshmallow, golden graham cracker, and smooth chocolate notes in every sip.
As summer approaches, many Michiganders feel the pull of campfires and outdoor gatherings. Naturally, s’mores remain a seasonal favorite. In fact, Grand Rapids, Michigan reportedly consumes more s’mores than any other city in the United States. Because of that local enthusiasm, St. Julian Winery crafted a wine inspired by the iconic treat.
“We learned that Grand Rapids has a strong affinity for s’mores, just like the rest of our region,” says Alyssa Sonnevil, Director of Marketing at St. Julian Winery. “We wanted to create a wine that fits the moment. It’s perfect for relaxing around the campfire. We hope it becomes part of the memories people make this summer.”
S’mores have a long and nostalgic history. The first recorded mention appeared in the 1927 Girl Scout Handbook, Tramping and Trailing. At the time, the treat went by the name “Some More.” Over time, people shortened the name to s’more. Today, fans even celebrate the dessert on National S’mores Day, held each year on August 10.
Now, wine lovers can enjoy this nostalgic flavor in liquid form. S’mores Wine is available at St. Julian tasting rooms, online for shipping to most states, and at select retail locations throughout the region.
Founded in Paw Paw, St. Julian Winery remains Michigan’s most-awarded winery. The winery sources grapes from the Lake Michigan Shore AVA and continues to create wines that reflect both innovation and local inspiration.
