St. Julian Takes Home Several Top Honors from 2025 Michigan Governor’s Cup Awards

St. Julian Winery & Distillery, recognized as Michigan’s most awarded winery, proudly celebrates another exceptional year at the 2025 Michigan Governor’s Cup Awards. Once again, the winery earned multiple top honors, reinforcing its leadership in Michigan winemaking.

The Michigan Governor’s Cup Awards represent one of the state’s most prestigious wine competitions. Notably, the event is a collaboration between the Beverage Tasting Institute and the Michigan Wine Collaborative. Now in its third year, the competition features blind tastings conducted by industry professionals. During the process, judges evaluate wines, meads, and ciders from producers across Michigan.

This year, St. Julian earned Best of Category and a gold medal in the Fortified category for its St. Julian Solera Cream Sherry. In addition, the winery received gold medals for several standout wines. These include Braganini Reserve Mountain Road Estate Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon. Furthermore, additional gold winners include Braganini Reserve Cinsault, Braganini Reserve Mountain Road Estate Rosé, and Braganini Reserve Petite Pearl.

“These awards affirm our dedication to crafting wines that reflect Michigan’s terroir,” says Nancie Oxley, Vice President of Winemaking. Every day, our team puts passion into every bottle. As a result, it’s incredibly rewarding to see that work recognized at this level.”

Beyond the gold medals, St. Julian also earned 17 silver and four bronze medals. Altogether, these awards span the Braganini Reserve series and other selections. In total, the winery received 28 awards in the 2025 competition. Clearly, this achievement highlights St. Julian’s consistency and commitment to quality.

“Our entire team is thrilled with these results,” says Apollo Braganini II, President of St. Julian Winery & Distillery. At the same time, we’re honored to carry forward our founders’ legacy. Looking ahead, we remain focused on creating wines that inspire and delight our customers.”

Additionally, several of the award-winning wines submitted this year are exclusive to St. Julian Wine Club members. These limited releases often remain unavailable to the general public. As a benefit, Wine Club members enjoy early access to these celebrated wines.
