Outside the Box Partnership Pairs Wines & Girl Scout Cookies

(PAW PAW, Mich) — Two historic organizations recently came together in a unique partnership that took wine pairing to a whole new level. Last week, St. Julian Winery and Girl Scouts Heart of Michigan hosted a virtual tasting that paired four popular cookie flavors (Lemon-Ups, Do-Si-Dos, Caramel DeLites/Samoas and Thin Mints) with a selection of award-winning wines from St. Julian. It is the latest in a series of events the two groups have worked on over the past few years.

During the one-hour Facebook event, Tony Strong and Brian Christofferson from St. Julian guided more than 100 participants through the pairings. Participants were given the option of choosing either dry or sweet wines for the mouth-watering tasting experience.

“The wine and cookies pairing event with St. Julian was a blast,” says Brenna Smith, Communications Manager for Girl Scouts Heart of Michigan. “Participants were thrilled to support Girl Scouts Heart of Michigan while indulging in some scrumptious treats. All funds raised through this event support local girls and their opportunity to participate in the premier leadership organization for girls in the world.”

Girl Scouts Heart of Michigan gives girls the chance to build lifelong friendships while growing into the confident, courageous person they wish to become. With a wide variety of events, activities, and opportunities that girls can’t find anywhere else, Girl Scouting is a place where every girl belongs and every girl matters.

“We are a farm-to-table enterprise and pride ourselves in community involvement with our growers, supply chain providers, distributors, customers, and employees,” says St. Julian President, John Braganini. “We also have a strong female force here at the winery, so supporting programs that encourage girls to be confident leaders and team players as they grow into young adults is a logical partnership for us.”

This partnership with Girl Scouts is just one of the many philanthropic endeavors that Braganini is involved in – others include the American Cancer Society, Big Brothers Big Sisters and local schools and universities like Northwood University, Bloomsburg University, and Grand Valley State University.
