Dave's Spaghetti Gravy

Dave's Spaghetti Gravy

3 Onions, Diced
1/3 cup Bacon, Diced
1 pound of Ground Beef
1 pound of Italian Sausage
1 pound Pork tidbits, small pieces
1 pound Beef Stew meat, small pieces
2/3 cup St. Julian Simply Red
3 Tbsp Garlic, mashed
8 cans of Tomato Sauce
2 cans Tomatoes, diced
1-2 cans Tomato Paste
Italian Seasoning to taste
Salt and Pepper to taste


So delicious, prefect over anything and everything, but especially spaghetti.


Fry until bacon and onions are nicely browned. Add ground beef and Italian Sausage. Use a potato masher to mash and mix all the meat in the bottom of a large soup/sauce pot. Cook for as long as it takes the redness to disappear from the beef; simmer. Add pork tidbits and beef stew meat.

Continue to simmer until things are no longer raw. Add St. Julian Simply Red, garlic, tomato sauce, and diced tomatoes.  Add tomato paste as necessary to thicken. While still on simmer, stir, stir, and stir.  Bring the temperature to 180 degrees while constantly stirring.  Once it reaches 180 degrees turn to low and add Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper to taste; let flavors marry.

Once finished let cool, portion out, and place in large freezer bags for use later.
